GREAT MOTHER TOTH WITH A PLACE FOR OH, IMPROVED WORLD PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR AT 3:41:15! WHERE WERE THE CZECH FIFTY?

Slovak walking record holder Matej Tóth dominated the 39th year of the Dudinka 50 and secured participation in the Tokyo Games, where he will defend the title of Olympic champion. The question remains, where were the Czech XNUMXs? The race in Dudince in the original March term was also to be the Czech XNUMXkm Walk Championship ............

In addition, Tóth was absolutely sovereign when he took the lead in the opening kilometers and only increased his lead. He walked twenty kilometers in the meantime at 1:29:25 and at that moment he had almost a minute for his nearest opponent. He then passed the finish line in this year's best world performance 3:41:15, while he broke the Olympic limit in almost nine minutes in complete comfort. This was Tóth's first start in his 50s since last year's World Cup, when he had to resign in Doha, Qatar. He last finished the XNUMX-kilometer race two years ago at the European Championships in Berlin, where he ran for silver.

This was followed by health problems, so the transfer of the Dudinská fifty from the original spring term to the autumn one came in handy. Earlier in the season, he started only in short races up to 5 kilometers. At the end of it, however, he showed that he prepared well for the longest competition distance. The time of 3:41:15 is his best performance since 2016 and he can prepare for the Olympic defense in peace. "We had a clear strategy and the race went as expected. I felt great. The goal was to start looser and then step up the pace. I am satisfied not only with meeting the Olympic limit, but also with the demonstrated performance. It gives me confidence that I can compete at the best next year at the Olympics, " evaluated after his performance.

The second competitor in the finish was the former three-time winner of the Dudinka 3, Rafal Augustyn from Poland, who managed the track in the time of 47:42:3 and moved to the third place in this year's world tables. (if we do not count Russian competitors). Experienced Ecuadorian Andres Chocho climbed the bronze podium in 48:58:3. The fourth standard, 50:00:3, was also subdued by the fourth German, Karl Junghannss, who was shown the timekeeper 49:45:11. A total of XNUMX men started the race and finished eight of them.

The women's category had two Polish participants. The faster one was Agnieska Ellward at 4:38:44.
