Vladimír Kánský in M75 on 5.000m walk 31: 31,34min WORLD CHAMPION !!! Congratulations !!!

Medal grapes are too high for others! Tropical conditions 32 ° C and hot Spanish sun!

IMG 8861It should be noted at the outset that there was such an unprecedented and huge competition in Malaga at this Masters World Championship, which the MS Masters has not remembered for a very long time. Both quantitatively and qualitatively. The total number of log cabins 8.000 testifies to the quantity !!! female athletes in all disciplines, of which there are about 700 !!! competitors in walking disciplines 5.000m, 10km, 20km (400 men / 300 women) !!!!! The quality is evidenced by the achieved performance - see the results section on the website of this championship.

The 5.000m walk on the track started the competition in walking competitions (from 4 to 6.9.2018 September XNUMX):

The first on Tuesday 4.9. the oldest and Vladimír Kánský ran for GOLD MEDAL in M75 with time 31: 31,34min !!! Australian Benett finished just 7 seconds behind him and Canadian Jobin ran more than half a minute behind the Government for bronze. Vladimír Kánský's year 1940 thus became the World Champion at the age of 78 in a respectable time, which many "young men" could envy him in these tropical conditions (32 ° C). When I met Vlada 2 days after the race in Malaga in the subway, he told me that he did not mind the heat, because he has a sauna at home and goes to it regularly and I think that he trains in it quite often ......... .

That same evening then Petr Adam fought in M65 as much as he could and in time 31: 22,75min he won 10th place. Petr set a goal of 31:30 minutes before the race and he met this goal to the fullest, so he is definitely satisfied.

On Wednesday 5.9. in the evening in the women's race  W45 Lenka Borovičková finished in 28: 15,47 for 5th place, when in 4th place she would need to go almost 1 minute faster.

IMG 8907Thursday 6.9. the "youngest" men's categories then took part in the start, Pepa Smola M50 he started his race at about 11 am, the temperature and the sun went up very uncomfortably at that time. Nevertheless, he fought according to plan (almost 3 km 2: 9 min) until almost 58rd kilometer, and held 5th place in real range, but then his pace slowed down a bit and strong opponents were simply better on that day. Finally 8th place in 25: 20,66min is of course disappointing, but the distances towards the 5th place are not big, so you can still really think about the longer tracks, which will come on the 10.9 (10km) and 14.9. (20km) to improve the current position.

Apart from Vladimír Kánský, who will certainly win other medals in other races, it seems that this time the medals will lie too high for the others. But it's a sport and everything can happen, especially on longer distances, so we definitely don't throw flint into rye. We will fight what our strength will do and what the hot Spanish sun will allow us .............
