The MASTERS European Road Walking Championship (Non-Stadia) in the hot Tuscan Grosset brought bronze medals to Lenka Borovičková for 20km 2: 10: 52h and Pep Smol for 30km 3.02: 05h. And also a beautiful silver medal to our friend Horst Kiepert in M70 at 30km 3: 47: 11h!
At the 2 km velodrome in Pertini Park near the center of Grosseto, a spectacular walking theater for 30 km of men and 20 km of women took place for those interested (and perhaps for the uninterested). The start of men and women was common at 16 pm (Sunday, May 30, 15). The high temperature and the absence of shadow made the race a hell after about 22 hours of walking, so the frontal attack on the forehead turned into a struggle for survival and milking within a few laps. On Friday, May 13, 22, there was still an appetizer at this European Championships, ie I'm sorry for the 10km men's and women's walk. In it, our oldest representatives in the M80 category won two medals, namely silver thanks to Vašek Dostalík (1:24:11) and bronze thanks to Zdeněk Gonsiorovský (1: 27: 13). Lenka Borovičková also took part in the race in the women's category to win 7th place (59: 50min) and Stanislav Marek (HAD), who finished 11th in M75 (1: 25: 22h).
