Czech Masters Championship, Pacov, Saturday, August 29, 2020 - 5.000m walk on the track

The excellently organized and dignified MASTERS Athletics Championships took place on Saturday, August 29, at the athletics stadium in Pacov. And the first discipline of the entire championship was the 5.000m walk. The absolute winner of the race and at the same time Pepa Smola became the champion of the Czech Republic in walking on the track of the MASTERS men category cat.M35-59 with the performance 26: 11,04min, returning slowly after a protracted injury to the racecourse. There was a surprise in women when she became the absolute winner Lenka Borovickova 28: 40,35min, but after recalculations over the age coefficients Lenka Slabáková became the champion of the Czech Republic in walking on the MASTERS women's track with a performance of 29: 09,98 min. The duel of the two Leneks was quite interesting at all. The two Lenka went together for a long time, until Pepa Smola lost one full 400m lap. The very experienced Lenka Borovičková took advantage of this moment and set off with Pepa for two laps, thus unleashing the second Lence until the final almost 30 seconds. However, even this time was not enough for the title, because as mentioned above, after recalculations, Lenka Slabáková became the champion of the Czech Republic!
