When the coronavirus is holding us back - it's up to each of us how to deal with the problems

COVID-19The coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on our entire lives and, of course, the consequences of various measures will affect the long-term functioning of society as a whole.
The economic crisis that will follow the health crisis will have a great effect on the form of racing in general, and probably no one will stop it. I'm afraid that money will go to the sport significantly less than recently. At a time when many companies, institutions and people will be struggling for economic "survival", quite logically, sport will not be a priority.
But our discipline is not one of the most economically demanding and I think that its poor condition in the Czech Republic is not due to a lack of funds, but primarily a lack of determination and willingness to pay the required pension for the result…
Even within the current crisis measures and regulations, individual sports are not prohibited, movement in healthy air, especially in nature, is directly recommended. So I hope that all Czech walking matadors and young people, who are motivated by performance and international results, are working as hard as possible!
When the race carousel starts up again (and it doesn't matter if it's in a month, two or more), you racers have to be ready!
I ask you, not only coaches, but especially racers. Take advantage of the opportunity to unlock the foundation, on which you can build special training in the future and tune towards the races. Do not succumb to the illusion that there is enough time. Because in that case, you will lose that time.
Unfortunately, it is common in our region that a racer thinks that after a few months of training properly… and the results, victory (I do not mean victory in our basin) will appear immediately. But this is not the case and the young adept of "great results" succumbs to skepticism and is mostly supported by his surroundings, he starts looking for abbreviations and other ways to the result. And finally, he tries to find an excuse for his failure, because there is no other way for perseverers than a huge pension. Whether we like it or not, the future successful pedestrian (generally perseverer) has to prove daily the qualities that more than 90% of the developed population does not have at all today and probably does not even want to develop them…
And just the current state can allow us to try to really "lock up". Try to really submit a meaningful training job. Don't worry about quality or volume. Simply and easily both. Quality in a larger volume. Without the need to "tune to the races" and the associated loss of time, with the fact that you do not go to school and you can manage your school and training preparation yourself.
I would expect that the money for preparation will be less than before. That the chance to at least partially professionalize will be given to a smaller number of competitors and higher performance will be needed… There is nothing to wait for and whoever is serious about the results, it's time.
I believe that we can see Czech pedestrians again in the forefront of the results and I would like it to be not just individuals. Times are tough now, but let's try to come out strengthened and ready for future sports.
