Comment Mudr. Petr Brandejský

This time, 1300 pedestrians and pedestrians (127 women and 63 men) took part in the traditional well-organized race (Athletic Club Olomouc in cooperation with SMOLA CHUZE Praha, zs) on the 64 m long circuit in Smetanovy sady, 21 of them from Slovakia and one from Portugal. Unpleasant cold and rainy weather placed great demands on those competing in league competitions, the Moravian-Silesian Championships, the Veterans' Championships and the Youth, which they generally successfully coped with, as evidenced by a number of personal records in all categories.

DSC 4418 Ol. 20 2019Slovak Olympian Mária Czaková became the absolute winner among women (26) on the 10 km track with a time of 46:29 min, with which she was not satisfied; followed by the Czech Olympian Anežka Drahotová (47:06 min) - we were used to better performances with her, but the World Championships in Doha, Qatar are in half a year and coach Piták certainly knows how to improve the performance by then. The third place was won by the Slovak junior champion Hana Burzalová (50:31 min-OR is under 49 min). The second best Czech pedestrian was the representative Veronika Janošíková, U23, from Šternberk in 53:43 min, followed by the Slovak junior Alžbeta Ragasová (54:13 min) and the Czech junior Jana Zikmundová from Turnov (55:19 min). The information about good performance was confirmed by the sixth Portuguese Luís Pássoro in the Prague Sparta jersey (46:23 min). Medalists of the Moravian-Silesian Championship finished in other places (favored Rostislav Rožnovský from Vítkovice did not finish and veteran Tomáš Hlavenka did not start) Saša Malysa, VSK University of Brno, 46:50 min, Rostislav Kolář, SK Hranice, 46:59 min (OR) and former national team and champion of the Czech Republic Karel Ketner, SSK Vítkovice, 47:04 min. Six more pedestrians got under 50 min - junior Petr Dušek from Rumburk, 48:21 min, veteran Filip Hejkrlík from AC Pardubice, 48:53 min, teenager Adam Zajíček from Poruba, 49:04 min, former youth champion, now triathlete Filip Veselouš, VSK University of Brno, 49:25 min, former representative, now veteran Michal Šandera from Rumburk and Tomáš Gdula, U23, Hvězda Pardubice, 49:45 min. It is worth mentioning the improvement of junior Jan Červenka, 2000, from Sokol Královské Vinohrady Prague, which is trained by Olympian Hubert Sonnek, to 52:14 min (2 minutes slower a week ago in Poděbrady). The fastest veterans of the Czech Republic out of 33 participants were Martin Nedvídek, Filip Hejkrlík and Michal Šandera; the oldest pedestrian was Stanislav Marek from Třebíč, 1942, the youngest teenagers Adam Zajíček from Poruba, Robert Hurdálek from Trutnov and Jaromír Morávek from Moravská Slavia Brno, 2003. P1040626 21 girls competed in the 17 km preparation competition (6 from Slovakia, most domestic from the Slezan Frýdek-Místek-6 section); the guest was Liliana Holková, 2007, from Bojničky (5:22 min) before Viktoria Bartoňová, 2008, from Frýdek-Místek (5:53 min) and Adriana Gazárková, 2008, from Borský Mikuláš (5:56 min). There were only 4 boys, 3 of them from Frýdek-Místek, who took the podium; Vojtěch Novák, 2006 (5:24 min) won the bronze medal for the indoor championship, Pavel Ebr, 2006, (5:52 min) and Jakub Jányš, 2007, (5:53 min). The track of teenagers and pupils for 3 km (20 starters, of which 5 from Slovakia, 8 from Slezan Frýdek-Místek) was dominated by visiting girls, medalists from MSR - Ivana Dudová, 2005, AK ZŤS Martin (15:10 min) in front of Paulína Avenová, 2004, ŠOG Nitra (15:33 min); the best home student Ema Klimentová from Šternberk was third in 15:45 min (OR has 15:25 min, but she was tired from the morning when she won the regional running competition). Personal records were set by the trustees of coach Nejezchleby, the spies Denisa Pánková, 2002, 16:29 min and Amálie Mynářová, 2003, 16:41 min, as well as their colleagues Bednářová and Kopelová and Pitnerová from Vrchlabí. On the same men's track (pupils, preparations and veterans, 7 at the start, 3 from Slovakia, 2 veterans) the guests from Martin also won: Tomáš Mencel, 2004, 14:47 min before Adam Nosáľ, 2004, 15:15 min, and the third the fastest Czech pupil Roman Hanyk, 2004, from Turnov, 15:58 min. The order was closed by veterans - Jiří Burget from Prostějov, 1955, now living in the Slovak Republic (21:36 min) and domestic winner of the first year of the race Václav Dostalík, 1940, who went to the race 53 times (!), In 23:42 min.

In conclusion: the Czech representatives dominate domestic competitions unrivaled, but their performances do not reach the international level. Amateur pedestrians are only slowly approaching the times of their predecessors in recent decades. The interest of young girls in walking and well-working training groups can rejoice, the situation with boys is critical (they are afraid of unpopularity, greater physical and mental demands against running and lack of races?). Deciding on the correctness of walking technique in the league competition brought 2 disqualifications, many veterans had big problems with the rules on knee restraint.

See you next year in Olomouc in better weather conditions!
