10km WALKING RACE WOMEN - CZECH WOMEN SURPRISING WITHOUT A MEDAL!

On Friday, March 29.3.19, 1.368, the 1.368 m long outdoor circuit at the World Championships in Toruń first belonged to pedestrians in the morning and to pedestrians of all ages in the afternoon. The start and finish of the race took place at the main athletic stadium, when after the start the whole first km was run on the tartan track of the main athletic stadium, from where the race route continued to the above circuit to reach the finish line again at the main athletic stadium on the tartan track. The XNUMX m long circuit was created on the main road along the athletics hall. The races were held with full car traffic, when only part of one lane of the main road was reserved for the circuit. Due to the fact that car traffic was very heavy on Friday and there were frequent convoys of cars and especially buses and trucks, it was the worst of the whole race to have to breathe all this. Ugh, ugh, ugh. This was a big deal, because there are plenty of parks in Toruń otherwise. Golden Podebrady! Fortunately, at least a strong wind blew ........ It's a pity, because otherwise the organizers can not be blamed at all - everything worked perfectly without a single snag like a wire, including the immediate publication of results online.

Both women's races had clearly dominating winners, first French Marie Astrid Monmessin, W60, 54: 39min s 5: 20min !!! and then Maria Dolores Marcos Valero, Spain W35, who with a power of 49: 30min had a 2: 26min lead over the second in the finish. The Czech competitors did not get lost in this very strong international competition, but unfortunately they did not reach the medals this time, they were very high. After last year's great success of our women at the World Championships in Malaga, there is now a big disappointment. She thus achieved the best individual result 5th place Lenka Borovičková, W45, 58: 44min, right behind her (in terms of placement criteria) came to 6th place, Ivana Škařoupková, W40, 1: 00: 56h and in 7th place Martina Netolická, W35, 59: 55min. In the W50 category, Miloslava Reinová finished in 15th place, 1:04:54 and Karolína Jeníková 16:1:07 in 31th place. Naděžda Dušková W35, was disqualified, which disqualified the entire Czech women's team W35. In teams, the best position was achieved by 4th place, W40 Škařoupková, Reinová, Jeníková, when they were 12: 21 minutes short of the bronze, but they managed to beat the team of Ireland (5th place) and Hong Kong / China (6th place)

In the photo from the left: Kathrin Schulze, AUT, W35, 3rd place in 52: 23min, Sonia Demon, FR, W45, Gold in 52: 14min, Brit Schröter, W40, GER, Gold in 51: 56min and Maria Perez Belloch, ESP , W35, 2nd place in 52: 11min!
