We bring you brief information from the meeting of the Organizing Committee of the European Team Walking Championship, held on January 25, 2021 in Prague.

The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive spirit with the participation of the Mayor of Poděbrady, 1st Deputy Mayor of Poděbrady, General Manager of Lázně Poděbrady as, President of the Czech Athletics Association, Head of the Competition and International Department of the Czech Athletics Association, union, company executive SMOLA KONSTRUKCE sro and the chairman of the association SMOLA CHŮZE.

The City of Poděbrady, headed by the Mayor, and Lázně Poděbrady, as, headed by the General Director, declared the maximum possible cooperation and collaboration at the event.

D. Bor informed about the planned security of the competition, including the route and its surroundings, which will be similar to the autumn meeting 2020 or the European Cup 2017. It will be necessary to place the platform above the flower clock. The park near the chateau was half renovated and the general director of Lázně Poděbrady offered it for use during the European Championships.

In general, however, it is necessary to perceive the current situation and limitations related to the covid. The problem of crowding people, etc. Athletic pedestrian school and fan zone - it is planned to implement them, the bridge crossing or the grandstand for spectators is not planned to implement them. It will be decided closer to the action in the context of the current situation. Unfortunately, this also applies to the test race the day before the European Youth Championships. The need for a test race will be checked with EA, but there is a problem requesting an exemption.
