British Wilkinson adorned the jubilee Záhorácká "20" with a track record of 10 km 39: 31min!! He still got below the 40min limit Eric Barrondo from Guatemala 39: 52min !! So many walking legends rarely come together in one place !! Heart what more do you want !!!

Head of the Organizing Committee of the 50th Záhorácka Twenty (Z-20) Ján Záhončík he had one personal wish in connection with the jubilee year: he longed that from June 1, his name would no longer appear in the record list on the 10-kilometer track. His desire almost worked out, although in the "Boer" heat, few people expected anyone to pedal faster than he did in 1992. "Attention, I also set my record in 28-degree heat," before the start, the former Czechoslovak. and Slovak representative Ján Záhončík.

21-year-old Brit Callum Wilkinson however, even in the heat of the hair, it exactly matched the performance of the only Olympian from Borský Mikuláš. The timer stopped at 39:31 min. The 2016 Junior World Champion was doubly happy because, in addition to the track record, he also improved Tom Bosworth's British record by 5 seconds four years ago.

VET exhibition joint photo 300x2002xThe Briton, recently ninth on the 20 km EP in Alytus, did great and was not stopped by the scorching sun. After the top five in 20:01 min, he switched to full speed, accelerated from kilometer to kilometer (10th in 3:50 min) and won with a 21-second lead over the silver Olympic medalist from London 2012 to 20 km Eric Barrond from Guatemala, who also improved his personal record - by 12 seconds to 39:52 and pushed Matej Tóth (39:56 in 2015) to fourth place in the historical tables of the 10 km race in the Z-20.

Of the three Czechs, he arrived at the finish line the fastest Lukáš Gdula (46:40), less than 2 minutes after him Martin Nedvidek (48: 30).

In the women's competition with a Guatemalan woman Mirna Ortízová very soon - already at the second kilometer - she broke away from the Slovak number one Márie Katerinka Czaková and gradually increased its lead. Ortízová, 12th at the 2015 World Championships for 20 km, won in 46:00 min. The only Czech competitor on the 10km track  Nadezhda Dušková came in 5th (57:16).

On the occasion of the jubilee of "Záhorácka dvadsiatky", twelve previous winners visited Borský Mikuláš: 9-fold Matej Tóth, 7-fold Jozef Pribilinec, 4-fold Juraj Bencik a Anton Kucmin, 3-fold Stefan Malik, 2-fold Pavol Blazek, Roman Mrazek, Jan Zahoncik, Jiri Malysa, and the three who triumphed once - Joseph Szabo, Stefan Petrik a Peter the Silent.

Several of them, such as Olympic champion Matej Tóth, European champion 1990 20 km Pavol Blažek, still track record holder 20 km Roman Mrázek and coach Juraj Benčík underwent a symbolic exhibition on the 500-meter track to the great applause of enthusiastic spectators. The braver ones like Pavol Blažek or Peter Tichý even competed in the Slovak Veterans Championship !!!
