My body can't take shape all year. But I used to have a bigger mess in my head, says the Czech champion

podium 02431From the position of a rising star, when she celebrated the junior world and European title, she experienced a severe fall, then she managed to rise from health and performance difficulties and last year she celebrated the title of European Vice-Champion in Berlin. Now the race does not make the races Anežka Drahotová so happy. In Poděbrady, she had to reconcile with the 15th place in the time of 1:35:43.

Did you feel back from two or three years ago?
I just didn't want that. I knew what it was like, I didn't have good memories of it at all. But then I had an even bigger mess in my head, I couldn't come to terms with the fact that I didn't go in front and I was really worried about the whole race. I'm not saying I didn't bother now, but I went for it. I believe in this coach and that if I can do it mentally, it will be good.

Does it reassure you that once you've climbed up, you'll be able to do it again?
I think yes. There are times when I don't believe it, but it helps me that the people around me trust me, whether it's the coach, the psychologist Zdeňka Sládečková, (friend) Patrick, everyone says it's in me and Berlin has confirmed it. Of course it's hard, I'm learning to race with this higher weight. I would also like to be in shape all year and race like a treadmill, but my body can't, maybe he's tired of those years. I know the form will go up, it just costs a lot of effort.

Half a year to go until the Doha World Cup. What will help you get back in shape?
Now we have a training camp, I'm going to ride a bike

Is cycling a reliable way for you?
I am happy among cyclists, they are hard workers, I rest mentally. I understand that it is strange for an independent observer to see me at the top bottom, but I have that course. It's a sinusoid and I need to work it up again.

Due to the weather, Qatar will race at night, will you adapt your training to that?
I thought so, we always did. But the Slovaks were in Doha and said that there was no point in going there in advance, they were immediately ill. So the plan is to arrive the day before the race.
